Where to find assets shared with you on a team's workspace?
When a team member shares an asset with you, you will receive an email notification to check out the shared asset. If you are a bit confused about where to find an asset that has been shared with you, then this is the article for you.
Before we proceed, let’s clarify that on Pictory, you can share 4 types of assets:
- Visuals
- Audio
- Templates
- Projects
Now, let’s delve into where you can find each one on your account. Assuming you are in more than one team’s workspace, please note that you can’t access shared assets in one team’s workspace in a different workspace. Shared assets will always be found in the workspace where the sharer is.
Where to find shared visuals
- Click the ‘Go to my team’ button in the email notification to go to Pictory.
- Log in to your account and switch to the team’s workspace of the user who shared the asset with you.
- In the team’s workspace, open a project - this can be any project at all in that workspace, it doesn’t really matter.
- Once you’ve opened a project, you will be taken to the storyboard.
- On the storyboard, go to ‘Visuals’ on the left menu, then go to ‘My uploads’.
- The first visual on the tab will be the newest visual and the one shared with you. You will also see the shared by tag on the visual indicating which team member shared the project with you.

Where to find shared audio
- Click the ‘Go to my team’ button in the email notification to go to Pictory.
- Log in to your account and switch to the team’s workspace of the user who shared the asset with you.
- In the team’s workspace, open a project - this can be any project at all in that workspace, it doesn’t really matter.
- Once you’ve opened a project, you will be taken to the storyboard.
- On the storyboard, go to ‘Audio’ on the left menu, then go to ‘My uploads’.
- The first audio file on the tab will be the newest audio and the one shared with you. You will also see the shared icon next to the file. You can click this icon to clarify which team member shared the file with you.

Where to find shared templates
- Click the ‘Go to my team’ button in the email notification to go to Pictory.
- Log in to your Pictory account and switch to the team’s workspace of the user who shared the template with you.
- In the team’s workspace, open a project - this can be any project at all in that workspace, it doesn’t really matter.
- Once you’ve opened a project, you will be taken to the storyboard.
- On the storyboard, go to ‘Styles’ or ‘Branding’ on the left menu, then click on the 'Change templates' icon as seen below.

- The will open the template window. Go to the ‘My templates’ tab to see the templates shared with you.
- The first template under this tab will be the latest template and the one shared with you. You will also see the ‘shared by’ tag next to the file. You will also see the shared by tag on the template indicating which team member shared the asset with you.

Where to find shared projects
- Click the ‘Go to my team’ button in the email notification to go to Pictory.
- Log in to your Pictory account and switch to the team’s workspace of the user who shared the template with you.
- In the team’s workspace, click ‘Teams project’.
- On the projects page, the first project will most likely be the latest project shared with you. You will also see the ‘shared by’ tag on the project card indicating the team member that shared the project with you.
